Oblivion speed mod

This mod provides accelerator and brake pedals for Oblivion. If you hit a lot of action and need to slow the game down a bit, or you want to walk between two cities and think the game is going to slow, then you can use this mod to adjust the game speed. As well as adjusting game speed, the frequency of sound effects are modified to match, so that things like NPC voiceovers remain in sync with lip movements.

This mod is an external utility, and you have the choice between either launching oblivion with a specialized launcher, or permanently patching oblivion so that it will use the mod regardless of how it is launched. If you do decide to patch oblivion, remember to unpatch it before removing this mod.

Speed is controlled in game via the numpad. Enabling/disabling sound frequency adjustment must be done outside the game.

This mod is not compatable with the Direct2Drive version of Oblivion, and requires a specific patch version. (Check the readme for the currently required patch.)

There is a side effect that NPC voiceovers sometimes don’t play. This can occur without this mod, but is not as common. (This seems to have been reduced by the oblivion 1.1 patch. No guarantees though.)

For those who want to be able to access this mod from oblivion scripts, my modified version of obse contains set/get gamespeed functions. There are currently no plans to include these in the offical obse releases however, so there would be very little point in releasing any mods made using it.
